Today my husband and I got a rare treat. We got to spend the entire afternoon with just one of our sets of twins. We took our five year old twins girls, Angelica and Alexis, out to lunch, haircuts, and even ice cream.
The girls really seek the extra attention since our 18 month twin boys came along. Sterling and Kelton have a lot of physical needs such as diapering, meals, and just learning how to walk and be little humans,, so they seem to get a lot more time with us these days than the girls.
We started at Fuddruckers http://www.fuddruckers.com/local/location.php?s=704 and then after Angelica's speech therapy, we went to Cartoon Cuts http://m.yelp.com/biz/cartoon-cuts-rockville in Rockville for the girls' second ever (YUP! 2nd!) haircut.
I even sat underneath the big green elephant for a shampoo and cut. I got an incredible blowout (included!) and it only cost $15 with Cartoon Cuts' Mommy and me haircut deal!
I couldn't believe how great the cut was by Sugar, our hairdresser. Much better than the last cut I got at Rainbow in White Flint Mall and a lot less expensive.
Granted, my last visit to Rainbow http://www.rainbowhairsalon.com/ included a cut, hair color, highlights, and a brow wax, but my husband, Patrick, is loving the price difference!
After our haircuts, we went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream, and I ran into Ulta for some not-so 16 hr lipstick by Loreal. Such a lovely store with everything from standard grocery store makeup remover and brands you can find at Walmart to luxury perfume and cosmetics. But, alas, my girls were with us so it was just a super quick trip.
There is a certain level of Hell in which humanity stands in line with a set of rowdy twins. Or two. ;). Enough said.
All in all it was a very pleasant afternoon. The girls really needed some time with their parents, and we enjoyed the time with them.
